NC24 SLIDE ISSUE

Post by Jac-al » Wed Oct 08, 2014 11:38 pm

Hey,

Im busy helping out a mate with an NC24, it wasnt running so did a carb overhaul
The bike starts and runs but like crap
I finally found that the one slide isnt opening when running the bike, it opens and returns perfectly by hand but not when by throttle, what could be causing this?

Sounds like a hole in the rubber diaphragm,
Stretch the diaphragm with your fingers to find the hole,
When you find the hole put a spot of superglue in it let it dry re-assemble.

It isnt a whole, ive checked and tried 2 different slides,
One thing i noticed is that the slide springs are alot longer than the nc30, is that normal?

Are you missing an O ring from the carb top?
Maybe the vacuum drilling is blocked in the carb body, or an inlet leak on the inlet rubbers meaning there is no vacuum to pull the slider up.
Valve clearances.....

crank the engine with no carbs on and put your hands on the rubbers to feel for sucking, you can compression test it if possible.

maybe the vavle cleareances are out, maybe that carbs isnt set up right, maybe the cylinder is ruined.

visually looking at it isnt good unless your revving it to full rpm but thats really bad for the engien if its not in gear.
