how hot?
so took the nc30 for a run the other night and when I got back (about 3 mins) the frame was red hot. is it normal for it to get so hot or is something awry?

Red hot, eh? Told you a million times, stop exaggerating!
But seriously... it is normal for the frame to get hot under normal use, even hot enough you can barely touch it. 3 minutes seems a bit rapid for it to get too hot though.

Yeah the frame get hot, its bolted to the engine so heat conducts into it. But 3 mins is a bit of a quick run!!!

In the summer, bloody hot! There's lots of engine and exhaust pipework packed inside the frame, so a lot of the heat will soak into it. The other week, I pointed my lazer thermometer at the rear header casting a few minutes after a quick blast, and it was 197.5C....
