Are the starter motors a common failure for the nc30's? Mine has really started to play up over the past month to the point I have a 50/50 chance of hearing the starter solenoid click and nothing happens. Only thing that sorts it is a knock to the motor n it cranks again but still...
I have ordered a replacement, does anyone know offhand what size the O-Ring is that needs to be replaced? Also if the starter motor has failed, should I be double checking any other electrics? The reg has been replaced recently and the battery is reading fine, alternator is charging properly aswell.
cheers

Re: Starter motor failures?
Hi, remember these bikes are over 20 years old so do tend to need a bit of tlc. I'd suggest rebuilding the motor and cleaning the brushes up and make sure they move freely, but if you've got a new one you should be fine. Are you deffo sure its not the solenoid not switching correctly?
Cant help with the o ring sorry, but it maybe in the service/parts manual in the document library at the top of the page.
