Carb t joints

Post by barneyho » Sun Jun 01, 2014 11:08 am

Hi guys

Need a bit of technical know how.

Was attempting to balance my carbs and noticed the t-joints inbetween the diaphragm housings are only inserted on one side. It's been so long I can't remember if this is correct but my instinct is thinking the t-joint should be inserted on both sides.

Also if my instincts are correct, does anyone know where I can get replacements from? DSS states they are discontinued.

Help please

Hi

If you mean parts 10 and 34 in the diagram here http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-vfr400r3-199 ... ml#results then you can buy them from CMSNL (same link), or if that's too expensive (and I don't blame ya!) try ringing/emailing round some bike breakers.

Cheers. It's parts numbered 4 and 29 that I'm seeking but even they're too expensive from that site.

I've been told they don't matter too much but this just doesn't sit right with my logic!?

Surely, if they're supposed to be inserted, being half broken will have an impact on the carbs?

Barney,
I have a couple of those t joints here. Part no.4. Is it just the 1 you need? Part no.29 i have but they are perished and wouldn't be any good.
