NC35 parts

Post by Damian120 » Sat May 24, 2014 1:20 pm

Hi all,
I'm new to this forum, partly because I've just recently got an rvf 400, so was looking around for info on what to look out for with one etc. However, mine has seen better days and needs a few replacement parts..finding these parts us proving impossible though :( needs a new clutch cover case (right side engine case), possibly new exhaust pipes, preferably stainless, and some new gaskets. Would anyone have any leads for these parts at a reasonable price?
Thanks for any info you can give :)
Damian

Hi mate and welcome to the site!

Where in the world are you?
There are lots of people on here with parts, if you need new parts, gaskets, carbs parts etc, the download rick Oliver's price list in the v4 section. He has loads of good parts and good prices. Also knows his stuff with these bikes.
Exhausts come up from time to time but you will look at paying £200+ for a half tidy system and up to £600 for a pukka full system.

You can always use a nc30 clutch cover casing if you don't mind it being a different colour?

I'm in Suffolk, in the east of England. Is there a link by any chance to his section/list of parts? Finding it a little different from the other forum I'm on. I own a zxr 400 L9 too. Have seen a couple exhaust systems, but hardly any that are more recent, and eBay don't seem to have a single one! Need to replace the pipes from the back two cylinders. Proving difficult atm sadly :(
What colour is the nc30 case? Guessing that bolts straight on too? Would show pics if the problems but got no idea how to load them onto the site.

That's handy i think Rick O is also in Suffolk. this is the link

http://www.400greybike.com/files/new%20stocklist.doc

Its at the top of the V4 general forum.

The exhausts haven't changed much in the last 20 years so new doesn't always mean better.
There is also an exhaust thread in the V4 genral section showing pics of pretty much every exhaust made for these V4's - well worth a look.
Also if you have a look on the forum board index page there is a thread (frequently asked questions) tells you how to post pics etc etc - well worth a read as it will save you loads of time waiting for answers that can be found there.
The NC35 (RVF) clutch case is silver and the NC30 clutch case is dark grey / black.

Excellent thanks for the info, and the link :) afraid I don't have a choice with the exhaust though, a previous owner has smacked something really hard on the bottom of the lower back two pipes and has put a large crack in it, which has become a long hole :( I could live with a black clutch case too. Thanks for the help mate :)

You'd be burnt at the stake around here for suggesting such a thing! ;)

Rick lives just north of Norwich in Norfolk.
