Hiya All,
Reason I ask:
My cbr400rr nc29 is 1992, and I see only 10w40 is recommended in the Haynes manual
Is 1992 engines a different ball game to the modern bike engines, that run a recommended 10w30?
(I had a choice with the CBR6 - and it runs great with 10w30 - bit rattly, but seems alot more zippy!)
Hope you can advise.
Engine Oil - Can I use 10w30? Runs great in my 2004 CBR6!

I would say stick with 10/40
The 400cc run quite hot an being as its an old engine as well i would stick with the 40

Hi Code,
Yup, I'm leaning that way as well

The poor 400 has been languishing in the back of the garage for 2.5 years now, taken out for the odd ride. (Less that 500 miles per year?!)
Bank holiday was bit of an eye opener. The bike is sheer class, the quality of the moving parts - sod the lack of displacement compared to the rough and ready 600.
Time for a service and some proper miles I reckon

Cheers
