Vfr400 nc30 running poorly
Hi chaps just bought a vfr400 been parked up for a few years, drained the tanks added fresh fuel , it just about started but fuel was coming out the over flow so decided to remove carbs and give them a good clean they was fairly dirty and clogged any way fitted them back on and started up the engine it runs sweet ticks over but when I rev it passed 7/8000 rpm it doesn't want to rev and when I try to ride it its worse dies around 5000 rpm,, the bike was previously restricted but just had a pin in the throttle grip so you could only get 1/4 throttle I removed it and couldn't find anything else so assumed that's is it.the jetting is correct for the bike 110 all round , funny thing is when I run it with the air filter off and spay abit of fuel it revs up lovely all the way to red line but under it own it won't , I've checked fuel lines also vacuumed pipe to the tank , all seems to be ok, as you can see its 1:10 am cant sleep it's driving me nuts and help would be greatly appreciated lol

110's all round are too small really.
Have you got standard intake and exhaust?

Hmm, sounds like a blocked passage in the carbs then.
The only way to really get them properly clean is to have them ultrasonically cleaned.

Re: Vfr400 nc30 running poorly
110s are stock for 1989 bike.. does the bike have the rear shock with the remote resevoir (botled by the pillion pegs) or the front forks with the brass adjuster in the middle of them?
If not then 110s are probably stock.
What system is on it?
It should still rev out, my 89 bike had 110s in it when I got it and ran fine, pulls harder with 115/118s but was by no means poor with 110s.
So i woudl assume your either missing the rubber flap and stuff or something is up with your carbs... could be some blocked passages etc.
