Hi Guys,
When I was putting the flywheel back on, I couldn't tighten the rotor nut to 85n.m but i have strong suspicions that's cause my torque wrench was out of whack, so I tightened it as far as a i could and then used the impact wrench to just turn it a bit, and it was already tight so i left it. Main problem is I can't keep the flywheel still! I've been using a strap wrench but i can't tighten beyond a certain point cause then it overpowers the strap wrench, which is really tight, even when I was taking the flywheel off I couldn't use hand tools and the strap wrench, i had to use the impact wrench.
Anyway, will the flywheel be fine? It seems just as tight as it was before I took it off. Or should I get my torque wrench recalibrated and then do it again? But I can't keep the flywheel still! Even when I followed the haynes suggestion to have a mate step on the rear brake, doesn't work!
Thanks!

Re: Flywheel Nut tightening
I couldn't get mine to the correct spec either.
And being impatient I just left it as tight as I could get it, it's been fine for the last how ever any thousand miles.

Re: Flywheel Nut tightening
I did mine the other week, and had no issues, which is odd for a ham-fisted pillock like me. You need a flywheel holder, sturdy ratchet strap, and of course the torque wrench plus socket.
Put the bike on the rear stand. Stick the bolt in by hand until it is nipped up. Clamp the flywheel holder in place and rotate until the handle is pointing towards the ground. Wrap one end of the ratchet strap around the arm of the rear stand. Hook the other end over the far side of the handle of the flywheel holder, and do the strap up until it starts pulling tight. You can then put the torque wrench on the flywheel bolt and do it up - BUT - you will need to put you knee against the flywheel holder, as it will deflect outwards under the strain as the ratchet strap tries to straighten out and ping off. You may also need to tighten the strap so the holder is pointing slightly rearward if you have a ratchet strap that is a bit stretchy. The cheaper ones like I have tend to have a bit of give in them.
This is the holder I bought:
