NC30 Front fork length??

Post by brys » Wed Oct 30, 2013 11:36 am

Hi,

I'm in the process of rebuilding my trackbike after getting the suspension sorted. Would someone be able to tell me the length of a standard front fork off a 1992 NC30 fully extended from the fork cap? And also how much fork you have protruding out of the top yoke? I have a firestorm set of forks to go into the yokes and I need to make sure they are set at the correct height. I've had problems with my front tyre which is a 70 profile contacting the bodywork, caused by a combination of soft springs and incorrect front ride height (which incidentally locked the front going into druids!).

Cheers,

Brys.

Stock NC30 forks are 690mm from the centre of the wheel spindle to the top surface of the top yoke fully extended - that`s set up as standard with the joint between the chrome stanchion and the alloy top nut sitting level with the top of the yoke.

Your Firestorm forks will have a big chunk of stanchion poking through the top yoke but it`s a conversion which works perfectly OK as the sliders are the same length as NC30 ones.

Cheers Rick. I'll slot them in to those measurements and hopefully that will give me enough clearance for the front wheel.
