nc30 not starting

Post by sspower » Fri Aug 23, 2013 9:10 pm

Hi,

i recently purchased an nc30 vfr400 , the owner told me it has been standing for a year(in a garage). i started it and rode it home which is about 10km away... a few days later i cleaned up the carbs and tank, got a service kit and when i try to start it it does not start. the is spark on all the cylinders and fuel shows its moving from tank to filter but it just does not start. what do you suggest could be the issue here as i bought a new battery for the bike.

your help will be highly appreciated

Okay some simple suggestions... Cos I had a simple problem once - is there enough fuel in the tank? You mentioned a fuel filter, it shouldn't have an inline one. You may have an issue with float levels? But first take off the airbox and spray some fuel into the carbs while u crank it and see if it starts to fire.... If so there's a definite fueling issue
