NC30 Airbox drain pipe?

Post by tigerclaw » Mon Jul 22, 2013 8:21 pm

On the left hand side of the airbox (if sitting on the bike) is a little drain / funnel thing, that then according to the parts manual attaches to a fuel line. Can someone please tell me what its purpose is? I dont know what would run onto the top of the airbox and drain into this and then where is the pipe supposed to run too? (condensation off the top of the tank? but then the waffle pattern on the top of the airbox would stop this from getting to the drain anyway?) :?: fanks :)

Maybe it's for draining the fuel tank. Tank -> top of the airbox -> drain pipe

It is the filler overflow drain. If you have too much fuel in the tank it comes out the filler drain and dribbles down on top of the airbox. From there you should have a tube hooked up to it to drain the fuel down and away from the motor (usually exiting under the bike in front of the rear tire)...
