Hey guys,
Right went out to the garage the other day and gave the bottom of the carbs as good of a tap as i could, due too the lack of room, turned the fuel tap on and it started dripping straight away from around the float chambers on carb number 2 and 3!?
Have the gaskets gone around these float chambers as they are leaking fuel from around them? And also is fuel supposed to drip from there straight away as i thought theses fuel taps only worked off of a vacuum?, I didn't even hit the button for her to turn over so it could draw a vacuum.
If anyone could get back to me i would be very grateful (again!)
Regards Cal

Re: CARBS LEAKING FUEL!!!
sounds like your tap has been modified to disable the vaccum.
If its leaking from around the float bowls it sounds like the seals..
stuck floats usually cuase fuel to leak out the overflow pipes.

Just ordered some new float chamber bowl seals from NRP Carbs, if the tap has been modified to do away with the vacuum is this a problem? I haven't touched the fuel tap but it has had a new assembly on it in its time.

well if your carb leaks without the vaccum safety it will leak fuel until the tank is empty if you dont notice it.Cal Walker wrote:Just ordered some new float chamber bowl seals from NRP Carbs, if the tap has been modified to do away with the vacuum is this a problem? and for float seals the best place is Rick O on here, he has in stock some seal kits made in a petrol proof long lasting rubber from scratch by another member on here.
Cheap too, about 20 odd quid for all 4 carbs and you get all the seals, o rings for pilot screws, and what not.
