voltage to check rectifyer

Post by KennonNC29 » Wed Jun 26, 2013 5:54 pm

recently I've found my seat to be rather hot when riding the bike not the usual hot from the engine which makes me suspect the rectifier is knackered and is cooking my battery I did read something about checking it at 5000 rpm what voltage should be read across the battery?

No more than 15.5V, ideally no less than 13.5.
