Tried searching for this but couldn't find anything.
My clutch housing/basket in my NC30 is worn and I have access to brand new NC35 clutch housing and plates. Will the entire clutch housing fit in without modification? Has anyone done something like that?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Nc35 clutch basket in nc30

Re: Nc35 clutch basket in nc30
yes im pretty sure, NC24 clutch basket will also fit.
They all use an ML0 (NC24) part.
the NC35 uses a different number of plates inside the actual basket if I remember rightly. if you have all the nc35 stuff it shoudl just drop in.
im sure you can also do some mix and matching to get a desired clutch feel

here is some clutch plate info.
ill be swpaping out my clutch basket soon as its got grooves worn into it.
I havent decided what clutch to put in yet. May even stick an NC24 clutch in it as i can get a complete one with genuine honda plates and friction nos for the price of a set of new nc30 clutch plates.

Re: Nc35 clutch basket in nc30
I was hoping someone had done this successfully before plonking down the dough for the entire nc35 clutch. But anyway I went ahead and bought.
I tried several combinations:
First I replaced all metal plates and friction plates (9 and 10 respective) using the nc30 clutch housing and I was still having problems getting the gear into neutral with engine running and clutch disengaged.
So I took everything out (yes oil and gasket) and saw the clutch basket had some free play rocking from side to side on the shaft. Replaced it with the NC35 basket but with all 19 nc30 plates and it worked perfectly.
Came back from a ride and took everything out again and decided to just use the nc35 clutch basket with all the 17 nc35 plates and that was even better.
So yes the entire nc35 clutch works in the VFR with no problems. It's even a bit of an upgrade I think.
Transmission feels awesome now. And the best part is I no longer have problems shifting to neutral with engine running. It was a problem I lived with for a long time because I read it was 'normal'. It shifts easily now without having to blip the throttle at all. Like how it should have been!
