NC30 rear links movement advice please

Post by mollers » Fri May 17, 2013 9:19 am

Morning to all,

A bit of advice please. Just about to start to put back together my NC30 rear shock and linkage etc.
A question about allowable joint movement after being torqued up.
I take it all torqued up joins should be free in movement ????? :? As the joins are all spacered then is bit of sideways movent exceptable or normal   . Now i guess the most important issue. Should i have any up and down movement on any of the joins ????. I have replaced the top and bottom shock bushes but everything else looked and felt ok. All the spacers were in good nick with hardly any signs of wear let alone scores or grooves. I have cleaned and regreased the bearings. With the spacers inserted the bearings felt and sounded good but iam no expert   . Just thought because of the manufactured clearance holes for the bolts to pass though i am bound to get a bit of up and down movement ????

Any common dog advice warmly welcome chaps ;)

Cheers for now :peace:

If all the bushes and bearings are good then should be ok. The lower shock bolt when correctly torqued doesn't allow any movement on the bush in the knuckle :?:
