NC30 carburettor connector

What exactly are these please and what do they do? Can't seem to find any information on them...

There are 2, one from the front pair of carbs and one from the rear, both going to the airbox. On my bike they appear to have been rammed in between the carbs and looked to have of started melting...







How do I fix them in?

They aren't that important, but those ones are broken, which again is not major.

You could replace them with new parts, I think Cammo on here doesn't have them connected, I don't have them sealed in in any way, just plonked between the carbs.

But don't order them from there, stupid expensive. Get them from DSS

i beg to differ they are important(ish)

thats the vacuum hose for the slides, which should be filtered if not dust and crap will work they way into the slides and block or restrict the smoothness of there action.

so its a case of it will work but it will also cause problems down the line if left unattended

That's true, but it's also to reduce emissions - they were never plumbed back into the airbox on nc21/24's. I don't see it as a big issue unless you ride in dusty areas.

Ireson: You'll need to remove the carbs and split them apart (or just loosen) to get the t-pieces back in there. Not a huge job, but enough hassle for the previous owner to just try and jam them back in!

Is it the airbox side thats snapped off? bit of epoxy type glue / resin should hold them on, jbweld for example.

I dont think they are important anyway, as cammo said, the NC2x didnt use them and had same engine layout and similar carbs, and most if not all other bikes dont use them.. zxrs dont.

Wont hurt either way I should imagine but if you want it stock spec then repair
