Carb balancing

Post by britaxcooper » Fri May 03, 2013 5:54 pm

It's been a while since I set up the carbs on a 4 cylinder bike, but as my other half has bought a NC23 I thought I would dig the carbtune out!

I've just had ago and have got them "ok"ish but not as good as I would like, the bike hunts when idling so I think I will be stripping and cleaning the carbs soon but for now does anyone have any hints/tips for next time I do it?

I did 1&2 and 3&4 and then balanced both sets together by the middle screw, I seem to remember the last 4cyl bike I did you could disconnect the linkage in the middle so you set up two at a time without the risk of upsetting the other set. Is this done on the CBR?

From memory,i just matched to the carb with the idle adjuster on it.
don't recall doing them in sets,or in any order.
