NC35 master cylinder

Hey guys just wanted to see would it be better to rebuild the master cylinder of a nc35 or replace it with something like a cbr600 master cylinder.

There seems to be air in mine and just cant get the brake pressure high enough.

Anyone know what M/C would fit.

The standard master cylinders can be a pain to bleed sometimes. Air can get trapped in the highest part of the system (the bolt that holds the brake lines onto the m/c) and it can be difficult to get it all out by bleeding it in the traditional way.

Try bleeding the master cylinder before finding a replacement.

You can do this by pumping the lever several times to build pressure and holding it in, then crack the bolt on the m/c - sometimes you can see the air bubbles in the brake fluid that comes out - nip the bolt back up and release the brake lever. Repeat a few times. Messy job - tie a rag around the m/c, bolt, etc!

Buying a bleed bolt with a nipple is a less messy way to go about this: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HRC-DOUBLE-B ... 1290wt_956

There are also other things to try if that doesn't make it better, but best to start with this.

Thanks for that. Ive rebuild the caliper and have brought parts to overhaul the mc. Might as well over haul that and then bleed it.

Is that link that you posted a banjo bolt that is setup for a race brakeline setup?

Yes, it's for running two lines from the m/c, one to each calliper.

If you still have the standard lines or a single aftermarket line at the m/c then it won't suit.

So if I brought hel lines in a race setup should be sweet then?

I'd imagine so, as long as it uses two single lines from the m/c then all brands will fit.

I've bled master cylinders with and without the hrc bleeding bolt - the standard bolt is just a bit messier, no big fuss if you take the proper precautions.

If you're going to swap, you need to get one with 14mm bore.

What would happen if i put the mc of a cbr600 f4i onto an nc35 with standard calipers?
