Effects of shortening slip on can NC23

Hi,

Where the bracket connects to the bottom end of my slip on, the actual can has got to the point where the rivets are hardly holding it in place. I think its just worn down and become extremely loose (or been dropped by the previous owner but we will never know!).

The solution seems to be shortening the can a little but was wondering how much is too much before it will start to effect performance drastically??

HI making your can abit shorter wont effect the performance much getting a better gas tight seal at the joint is better bet and makin it safe to use, things to note maybe a slight increase in noise maybe repack while in bits ,if your concerned maybe a dyno run to check fueling to make sure all is ok cheers c

I cut my can down to 8 and half inch, didnt effect performance only after i jetted it and fitted full s/s system and other bits it then effected performance but for the better :).

Oh and yes noise kind of goes out the door lol, but my bike still passes mot with it fitted, even though people tend to cover there ears when im going past lol

cheers mate, i did pretty much the same and it runs no different it seems. Apart from being louder.
Yours sounds awesome! haha. Its always a good laugh firing her up at 6:30 in morning when its stone cold, pretty sure i'm a few peoples alarm clock!
