my bike has been sitting now for a month as i was sorting out a few things on it i am thinking its an electrical fault and i was wondering if any one could help me if possible the bike seems to want to idle at 1600 rpm but it seems very slow idle as in it seems like it wants to stall i know this idle at 1600 rpm is to high as when in tried to ride it it was very difficult to change gear before hand the bike was idling at 1400 rpm i can confirm there is no air leaks carbs and jets are clean and not blocked (blown throw with airline) and have been cleaned separated one by one and new o-rings replace (petrol resistant) valve clearance and shim have been changed and clearances are spot on now carbs have been balanced also regulator charging good and battery is fine as while it was sitting it was charging by solar panel also it has been charged by the mains the bike seems to rev great thought out the rev range it like brand new but this idling issue i can not seem to solve and i can only relate it to an electrical fault now as the engine is mechanically sound with no leaks (air/fluid) if any one has had this problem i would be very interested in there problem solving but as i say its defiantly not the carbs as every one always brings this subject up as the first problem as in many cases it normally is but this one it 100% not also the air filter (k&n) has just been cleaned and oiled this was also in the bike before hand when it was running at 1400 rpm i know 1400rpm is still 100rpm higher then recommended but at the time the bike was running great with no gear change problems so i just keeped it at that as it wasn't causing me any issues within this time no jets have been changed or anything on the bike the only thing i did do which i have now removed was the de-restriction modification with the resistors one between the cdi and one between the back of the clocks but i have now removed that because i have removed the metal plate inside the clocks that kicks the restriction in i have also check the alternator and it is also great and working good from this point on wards i am lost i am maybe thinking the throttle position sensor is maybe causing this problem but i would like some reassurance would that cause that kind of problem with the idle if that sensor is faulty to my bike as i have read that it controls the sparking plugs and advances them for better spark etc but i can be wrong i have notice that the spark is quite weak but i have check primary and secondary coil packs also and the ht leads and the caps are health same as the spark plugs but to me it seem like the spark plugs are kind of rubbish and not giving a very strong spark PLEASE HELP GUYS NEED SOME USEFUL INFORMATION
MANY THANKS

And breathe
You say it's idling at 1600rpm but it is on the verge of stalling. Is that correct?
Is the tickover lumpy like it's misfiring?
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

I havent read all that but i get the jist of it - youve done loads to it and now something is up with it.
if its idling at 1600 I am struggling to understand when you say its a slow idle? And also as far as I am aware, the idle of the bike wont affect how it changes gear? So I am confused with what your issues are tbh.
There also appears to be an issue with your computer, it wont type a full stop.

Aye, edit that - stick a few spaces, full stops and press return now and again.
Am sure we'll sort you out..but I cannot be arsed to read a chunk of text like that.

And moved to the correct section where you are more likely to get help.
And is the the same urgent help you needed three weeks ago - but not too urgent to come back and read the replies ?
