Before we attempt this and encounter a snapped bolt, what size are they as standard? I can pick some up from work..
cheers.

I think the OE ones are special because the head has a flat on one side that locates against the rear of the sprocket carrier (think of it being a rather exaggerated 'D' shape). There's not a head on them that you can tighten, they simply rely on the two flats locking together. You might get away with grinding the head of a standard bolt to suit, but I don't know if there might be clearance issues. I assume Honda made the heads flat for a reason.... Anyway, the fiche doesn't state the bolt size, but lists the nut as 8mm, so that gives half the answer, if that's any help!

Found a pic to explain:

M8 standard pitch, the nuts are jap m8 (14mm hex) flange head,

However you can use the equivilant m8 (13mm hex) nyloc nuts on reassemble,

As for the studs i had kayla machine some stainless bolt heads down as to not interfere with the clearance.

With a grinder youll be good but would take a while to file down by hand.

M8 25mm

Jap M8 are 12mm hex :peace:
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.
