fitting r1 shock to nc29

Post by marccw » Fri Aug 31, 2012 9:31 pm

Hi All, The rear shock on my nc29 is shot and i have one for an r1 spare. Has anyone on here fitted one to a 29 befoe, ive looked at the old posts and all i can find is cbr600.
The r1 shock gose in but is 14mm slimmer on the bottom mounting than the 29 one and ill need to cut a 5mm deep slot in the linkage.
Now my question is how much will it weaken said linkage (as this seems to be common on fitting cbr600 shock) and can i get away with having spacers made to make up the differance in shock bottoms ?

Any help on this would be great

Thanks marc

Sorry just found the post and it was a r6 shock. Still might help though.
