160 rear on NC29?
think i know the answer to this one... yes...but just after conformation.
been looking for a rear tyre for like ages!
the standard is 150/60-17
can i get away with a 160/60-17 Bridgestone 020 on my NC29?
will it matter if i have H rated front and what ever the above rated rear for MOT?

Yes you can and no it won't

Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

Re: 160 rear on NC29?
I run 160 on my NC 29.
I thought it was standard size until I bought my 2nd NC29 last year, then realised it was wrong.
I replaced the tyre with a 160 ASAP, they look so much better, FATTER and MEANER looking. The 150 reminds me of a Honda C90 tyre.
They tend to tip in quicker with the 160 but Im a scardy fair weather biker so dont care about getting my knee down, as long as I can go fast in straight line Im not bothered.

Re: 160 rear on NC29?
they "look" good.....
theres me thinking i need the fcukers to stick to the road being more important than how they look.. must be me coz i ride mine more than i look at it
if its straight line speed you want, your on the wrong bike.. 400s were built to corner.. & no i don't even stick my knee out & i dont have chicken strips in winter let alone in "summer".
Tan, thought they did slow you down a little, would be interesting to see if i can feel a difference. mind you its only till i do get enough stashed by to get a set of tyres from GF that he mentioned a few weeks back being better than 090/092 combo.

I have a major aversion to crashing and just use my bike to toodle around on. Even with a 150 on the rear I still wouldn't lean over any more.leopard_pagan wrote:they "look" good.....theres me thinking i need the fcukers to stick to the road being more important than how they look.. must be me coz i ride mine more than i look at it

I have had more powerful bikes in the past but bought the NC29 cos it was cheap to buy, insure, tax and run.
And in my mind when I hit a 100mph and get caught I lose my job ( and prob my wife as well ), its more likely to happen on a faster bike!

No one goes out to crash mate & if your aversion to accidents is that bad, I'd hang up my lid & never get out of bed.
