What are these screws?

Post by white wings » Mon Aug 27, 2012 5:19 pm

Hey all,
Team Panda Racing here in Minnesota in need of some help. I have the 1995 NC35 and just bought more bits for it the other week but I need some help.

Although I have no pictures of the issue, I'm sure you guys will know what I'm talking about right away.
I'm replacing the carbs with a sorted set-up I bought from another member including my faulty carb rubbers. I noticed that below the rubbers, there are holes in each inlet with screws blocking them. In cyclinder #3, however, there is a small tube. Is this the tube that would normally connect to the fuel petcock?

If the vacuum of the petcock is removed, should this tube on the cylinder be blocked off?

Thanks man, this may have been part of the reason my bike was not running well even after bumping jet sizes up.

You will have an airleak if that pipe isnt blanked off if you are not using the original Honda vacum tap.

The 3 other screws are balance take-offs.

You remove them and screw in adapters so you can fit vaccumn gauges to balance the carbs.

After fettling with valve clearneaces / carbs its always wise to rebalance the carbs to give a nice smooth idle.
