Nc35 engine in NC30 frame question

Post by scooble » Sat Aug 04, 2012 4:09 pm

will the NC35 engine slot straight into the NC30 frame and plug straight into the NC30 loom?
....and if it does, will the NC30 CDI run ok on an NC35 engine?

You also need to thread a couple of the engine mount holes on the rvf engine but speak to Sam Billing, he has a 35 engine in his 30.

it will bolt in ok, check the bolt holes in the middle of the V as my 35 engine didnt have the holes tapped but a mates one does, to use the 30 cdi + loom etc you will need to use the 30 starter clutch + 30 ignition pick-ups, the 30 has 2 but the 35 onlt has 1, to fit the ignition pick ups you will need to just drill + tap one hole so the pick-up will bolt in, if you sit the 30 + 35 engines next to each other without clutch cover you will see what i mean, i have a 35 engine in my 30 + used all 30 loom cdi etc, only real benefit is the gearing, its so so much better as 1st, 2nd + 3rd are not as long, hope this helps

As above, you'll need to tap the engine mount holes in the rvf engine.

It's M10 x 1.25 size, it was no problems for me with a good quality tap set and cutting compound (I used trefolex).
