Hi this is where you use four drill bits the same size under the throttle butterflys so when you open the throttle if all butterflys are opening together they will release the drillbits at the same time and are in sync but this only sync"s the carbs at tickover and you really need to use vacume gauges to get the carb"s in sync at normal thottle speeds ie about 4000-6000 rpm hope this is clear rick

It's all in this sticky. Which is conveniently placed at the top of this forum section...

Just been through the 25 pages myslef and nothing regards setting up the carbs using this method. Not that I use it as I do it by eyeing the small hole and the butterfly.

Sorry, I thought I'd seen it in that thread.

It's explained in this thread and a couple of others.

drill bit method is used just to get a close sync, for idle, as each cylinder will run different compressions over the years and consequently pull more or less air, so thats why you need to use vacuum guages after you get it running.

a drill bit method is just the start it will still run like a bag of wank.

And if you do get the gauges you'll need either asbestos hands or purchase a 90 degree screwdriver they have them on the carbtune site but you can get them a lot cheaper elsewhere.
