Kph/Mph Motrax Converter

Post by Whittmeister » Mon Jul 23, 2012 4:22 pm

Hi there!

Bought this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271002557067? ... 1420wt_952 for my NC30 and cant seem to get it working.

Have tightened it up into the clocks first, and then put the cable into it and tightened that but it reads at 0.
Have also tried tightening the converter onto speedo cable first, and then attaching this into my clocks.

Whichever way I do it, it reads 0. But then when I take it off and just put speedo cable back into clocks, it works like it always has in kph.

When I have the converter in my hand and spin the needle, the housing inside spins like it is working, but wont do anything once attached to my bike.

My mate has the exact same one on his NC30 and his works fine.
Anyone got one of these and had any issues?

Cheers in advance,

Phil!

First thing i can think of is that either side of the converter is worn. Just letting it spin. Maybe swap with your mate. Check results. Just noticed its new. Are you puting it on correct and slotting the cable in? I use one without problem.

Yep its new so can't be worn. And yeah like you say, slotting the cable in then screwing on.
Baffled as to how it won't work, only fits on one way!
Is there any way to get more of the needle out of the speedo cable?
cheers for the help anyway

its knackered then the cogs inside not meeting.
put a match in the bottom and spin it and see if it turns the top, and then see how much resistance you can put on it
