hmm, how many earth points are theyre on the bike? im pretty sure there one on the left front part. the green wire bolted on the frame in the front. is that earth? if it is, its pretty dirty and rusty, i might give it a clean and see how it goes.

I am not familiar with the earth point/s on a NC30, have had no need to go looking yet, but green is the colour for the earth wire throughout the loom, according to the haynes manual and you have already found one green wire connected to the chassis. You should make sure all chassis earth lug connectors are clean and tight. There should be a number of earth connections and links to various bits, anything that is rubber/plastic mounted eg radiator fans etc will have either a green loom wire connection or a link wire from chassis to some point on the plastic mounted part.

Re: major indicator problem....
It's most likely knackered switch contacts.
Next time it happens try fiddling with the switch button (push it on and off a few times)
You can always connect the wires together that the switch engages to bypass the switch.. if the indicators work fine then the switch is the problem.
Start with the most obvious thing first

Re: major indicator problem....
This sounds like a knackered switch if keep pressing the button works.the left indicator only works after 20 seconds of pushing the left indicator button....
As for the brake light, that could be a bad earth.
Disconnect the plug for the indicator switchgear.. it's just behind the middle left hand side panel.
Find the wires that are connected together when you put the indicators on.
Bridge the two wires in the plug with another piece of wire and turn the ignition on.
If your indicators work then it's the swtich, if not it's something else.
You need to bypass the switch first to isolate if that is the cause of the problem, otherwise you are just guessing and keep asking what it can be.
Think about the problem and the steps you need to solve it and you can work methodically.
