NC30 carb setup with filter or airbox - Has anyone done this

Post by 999Gomerz » Tue Feb 21, 2012 9:28 am

Hi guys, as per the title I am freaking out that I do not have a filter on my HRC Carb setup on the NC30.

Has anyone used the NC35 airbox or other thing to filter the air before it goes into m engine?

Thanks.

Your screw the fueling up if you add a filter, even more so if you add a airbox. I take its a trackbike? Most people just run a wire mesh over the carb plate, if its a road bike them maybe the HRC setup isnt for you.

Yep, some wire mesh is best.

What about extending the carb tray up to thefuel tank and sealing it against the tank and then putting a filter of sorts near the carb tray entry similat to Martin with his?

Not so sure how that would go. On the hrc carb setup they draw a hell of a lot of air even from the gap between the frame and tank, not all of it comes from above the radiator.

It probably wouldn't do much harm but it will throw jetting etc out, especially if you start creating more than atmospheric pressure at the carbs (i.e. ram air).

Mesh over the carbs is easiest IMO.
