Awesome Neosophist thanks!
I've discovered the right peg has the end snapped off (dont ask why I've only just noticed this), do other pegs fit or do i have to hunt down a hanger on ebay?
Removed the rear hangers today, looks a lot nicer without them. Am planning on getting another rear seat cover and converting it. Also sounds like the speed limiter is still hooked up and the bulb has gone....

The bike doesn't have a speed limiter.Sasakura wrote:Awesome Neosophist thanks!

It has a speed over warning light that comes on at 80km/h. There is no top speed restriction on these bikes. It wasn't until the later NC30's that the regulations in Japan changed forcing a 112mph speed limit. (180km/h)
Nothing else will fit properly, just get a new standard one.
Keep the rear pegs.. there very hard to get hold of.
Also it will fail the MOT if you take it to a proper tester for having a pillion seat and no foot-pegs.

Re: NC24 Chain guard bolt size + tax discs + Choke cable
What would be causing surging at around 80-90mph then?
I'm looking at making a rear cover using a spare pillion surround so it wont fail the MOT. Will be keeping them anyway, last MOT was a few months ago so plenty of time to fix one up!
Edit: Also the front brakes are too small for the disc. Will get a photo of that...

You mean the pads don't fill up all of the disc? Thats normal. Or do you mean they don't fit?Sasakura wrote:What would be causing surging at around 80-90mph then?

And surging? Like it's running out of fuel?
This is most often an old dodgy vaccum hose, they go soft and under high rpm they suck themselves closed which cuts off the fuel. Have you replaced the vaccum hose?
Thats the first thing to check
If it isn't that then somethings not right with fuelling or airbox. 90% of time it's the vaccum hose.

Front discs look like this:

Which sounds normal then?

Will check out the vacuum hose when I do the choke. It's fine at slow speeds at high revs, goes all the way to the top in 2nd but behaves like that whatever the rpms are at speed.

Those calipers look normal.
The pads don't bite the inside 1/6th of the disc.
Checked the vaccum pipe?
