maximum rear tire width?

I have a 94 cb400 and was wondering if i could fit a wider rear tire on it. Has anyone tried to do this? i'm looking to fit a 160/60/17 tire on my wheel and i believe that my wheel width is 4.00.

Hi, my 96 cb 400sf is fitted withe the size of tyre you ih to fit and it handles very well
