Unlisted NC30 carb parts
I need a couple of carb parts that dont seem to be listed on the parts lists and drawings on CSMNL, The 2 parts i need are,
Locating dowel's between the carb base plate and carbs
Screws that hold the butterflys in place
Anyone know if these are available from honda or will i need to go to Keihin?

Yeah trouble is the screws have a habbit of stripping there thread when removed, if possible id like some new ones so theres no chance of them working loose at ful chat

I don't think either are available from honda, they probably come pre-assembled.
The screws don't like to be reused, they have a split/flange in the end to stop them working loose, and usually wreck the thread when removed. Whatever you put back in there make sure to use some serious threadlock!

If you use the wrong type of screwdriver they'll strip.Drunkn Munky wrote:Yeah trouble is the screws have a habbit of stripping there thread when removed, if possible id like some new ones so theres no chance of them working loose at ful chat
There JIS screws, you need a JIS sized screwdriver to remove and reinsert them without stripping them.
I've removed and reused the screws many times.
I've also had bikes where people have knackered almost every screw using the wrong type of drivers.

It's a Japanese standard size, as opposed to our standard sizes.Drunkn Munky wrote:Ok whats a JIS screwdriver and how will that prevent the threads from stripping?

So how does it prevent stripping the THREAD? Just to clarify im not having issues rounding off the screw head or removing them, it seems these screws are a 1 time use only hence why the thread strips (sometimes) on removal.

Re: Unlisted NC30 carb parts
The screws are peended over at the end, that's why they strip. They're not made to be removed!
I think replacement screws in the same size and some good threadlocker would be the easiest solution.
