Oil Leak Fix From Pushrod
Hello again all few days ago noticed a small oil leak coming from the left hand side which generally became worse once started turns out the the pushrod oil seal had finally turned brittle and had split around the middle the seal can be bought from most bearing and seal places the size would be an 8X25X8 only pennies and could save you from an engine rebuild and from what im told the VFR400R NC30s dont suffer from this problem. This is just a small problem i had and would just like to inform anyone who has a similar leak Happy Travels All

And the best part about the seal is that it doesn't have an external lip, like the output shaft oil seal! Which means you can replace it while the engine is still in the bike!
Good stuff, just pray your output shaft seal doesn't leak.. Haha, I am.

Re: Oil Leak Fix From Pushrod
Interesting one... the Later NC24's use the same oil seal as the NC30's do (91204-MB0-013 Oil seal 8x25x8 (ally))
The early NC24's (upto engine NC13E-1082622) used a different part number 91204-ML0-721. *NC24 specific part)
Maybe it was changed to the later one as it was a better design?
Crank cases also changed at that time too, I believe it was just to accomodate the clutch oil seal as nothing else was changed.
Oddly enough, the MB0 part number means that oil seal originally was designed for a VF700SE-F (The US know them as the sabre)

Re: Oil Leak Fix From Pushrod
There's been a bit of oil residue around my front sprocket iirc (not looked in 2 months as I'm at uni), if it's from the rod is it easy to replace the seal?

Yes it should be pretty easy it took me 15 minutes take off the left hand fairing then i think its an 8MM long reach socket undo the clutch casing and then i think i took the front sprocket off and then popped the seal out with a straight edge screw driver get the new one and use a little bit of locktite and use the old seal to drift the new one in then have a cup of tea and go back outside and refit the push rod and it shouldnt be a problem and just reasemble from there
