nc24 valve clearance adjusted, what are the thin steel bits?

Post by spooky » Tue Nov 15, 2011 10:37 pm

As above, What are the thin steel bits above the valves? also there are "H" shaped thin tubes or bars on top of the rockers? Sorry I didn't take any pics as I was kind of in a hurry before it got too dark.
BTW. its all built up again and running sweet now.. 8-) ...

Not shims mate, they look like some sort of spring steel covers that go right across the head between the valve springs but each end goes under the rockers, there is an access hole in the middle where you can get the feeler gauges into, Just. I had to bend my feeler gauges about an inch or so from the end at about 45 degrees so they would fit in. Wish I had some pics to show now, doh.

And I see now what you mean about the "H" shaped pipes, Oil feeds. Dam, these wee bikes are well engineered.
