Thanks mate I'll have ago at the above and hopefully get it running sweetly. Is it a hard job? Do you agree the reason it won't idle will just be carbs gunked up?

bike is running really well now and starts first time with no choke at all an idles at about 1350 rpm. stuck some iridium plugs in as they were the only wrongs i could find local and runs really well for a bike thats been stood for 10 years. havent bothered cleaning carbs at this time as wanted to make sure bike ran and all the gears worked and lights ect before i spent too much time on it.

oh well looks like bike isnt so cheap now. lol. failed mot as blowing around collector box. garage may be able to weld it but may end up wtih a new collector box.
got them to strip brakes as well so bike will stand me around 700 if collector box replaced.

Yep collectorbox writes a lot of them off as you need to remove the engine to get it off to work on it or replace it.. if you replace it they wern't readily available until recently.. rcv4 makes one as well as motad but there are 200+gbp.

i checked the collectorbox as best i could when i bought it but it wasnt running so couldnt check for it blowing. nevermind i took a risk and got a little burnt but its only done 18000 miles so should be a pretty clean bike with a damm good clean and strip down once i get it on the road. probably stands me at more than its worth but hey ho.

its for the girlfriend to use when she does her test. honest. its not just i fancied one to go in the garage to play on when i dont fancy one of the other three bikes. lol
the milage isnt bad and a bit of the cash ive spent is service parts so should get my money back there or thereabouts if i sell. as i do want an nc30 really.
