Ok, this may seem daft, but is it possible to tighten an NC30's flywheel nut by putting the bike in gear and standing on the rear brake?
It was easy enough to remove the flywheel, but when trying to do it up, the clutch just doesn't seem to engage - as though the bike is still in neutral!?
I can't use the same holding tool I removed the flywheel with as the new one is much smaller with nothing to get a purchase on.
Am I just being stupid?

Re: NC30 Flywheel nut question
You're missing the point! I have a holding tool for a standard rotor. The problem is I am trying to fit a much smaller (about 1.5" in dia.) and there is no way to hold it. I thought the gear/brake combo would work, but doesn't seem to be the casejetblack wrote:Get the propper tool- about £6 off ebay.

The slipper clutch plates may not grip when turned backwards, that's what they are designed to do on the road.

Is it possible to use an oil filter removal tool to hold it?

Nope, it's too small and completely smooth! I'll post a pic when I get a chance. Kind of stumped on this oneCammo wrote:Is it possible to use an oil filter removal tool to hold it?

Re: NC30 Flywheel nut question
I've used a fabric strap wrench in the past. It didn't seem to mater how smooth the rotor was the wrench just tightened itself up around it.
