Still won't charge
Fitted a new rectifier in the hope this was what the problem is , started the bike and off it went nicely , within 10 mins the battery was drained and would not crank the bike over , is there an easy way to check the stator ? This is really getting on my nerves now as I cannot get a reading anywhere near 14.4v across the terminals when the bike is running at 5000 rpm as the voltage is actually being sucked out and is dropping instead , and to make matters worse it won't start at all now !

Re: Still won't charge
set the meter to AC and measure the output of the 3 yellow wires that would go into the reg rec.
you should get a variable reading across the three phases - a+b b+c and a+c (if you know what I mean)
SOunds like the generator is shagged, rather than the reg/rec.

Yup, either that or a connection along the way. There are only so many things can fail, get involved and work it out. Fix every potential problem you notice, every connector cleaned and greased, every tight kink in the wire eased, etc. You'll feel better for it and it'll save you keep going back to it.CMSMJ1 wrote:set the meter to AC and measure the output of the 3 yellow wires that would go into the reg rec.

Re: Still won't charge
I have done a few checks , checked wires etc and it is pointing to the generator coil which Graeme France has come up trumps with - fingers crossed this will get it sorted so if anybody needs a rectifier
