Hi all,
My reg/rec has failed on my NC35.
Been researching this forum, and seen that the new rec/reg to use is from a CBR125, previously the R6 was the one to use...
I'm off to France on the bike on Friday, so which should I go for?
Cheers
Will

price = CBR 125
Reliability = R1/R6
still bare in mind a reg/rec can fail at any time.

had my uk spec reg fail and the r6 one i replaced it with looks identical bar the sh number which is different and lack of wiring plug . unless theres some magic in the yamaha one would think that it will shit itself at some point also... if your heading off to europe would do the system checks that are on forum incuding wiring plugs etc buy a battery and new regulator even an o/e reg and good battery100 tops for both and enjoy your trip to france .

If you're going to Europe then I would recommend buying one to replace your knackered one and then buy another to keep under your pillion seat.

The best units (in my opinion) are none of the ones you've mentioned and are the newer mosfet controlled units, these are the way forward. See this thread for more info:vr6will wrote:Budget not an issue really, after the best reliability really...

I used to keep a spare on my nc30.
