Fuel tap is spitting fuel

Post by chrishs » Sat Jun 11, 2011 4:53 pm

I have an irritating problem..

I took my tank off my NC30, and emptied of fuel by tipping upside down (I don't have any other way of syphoning it out). Afterwards there was still a little bit left in there, but I left it. Then I did what I had to do on the bike, put it back on, and started it. Fine, except that fuel is spitting out of the bottom outlet on the fuel tap, why is this? The fuel tank wasn't moved or touched while I had it off, so I am confused as to why it's doing it now, when it wasn't before. :( I have been told that the o-ring could have gone?

Also does anyone have a spare fuel tap for sale?

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Yer sounds like the diaphram is not seated properly. you can take it apart and have a look to see if all parts are as they should be. Also Rick O does a fuel tap repair kit for this sort of thing i think.
An NC is for life, not just for Christmas!
