Hi,
I just bought 4 new original carb intake rubbers for my 1998 NC29 Gullarm. If I compare the old intake rubbers with the new ones, there's difference. The new ones hasn't got a full hole, there is a metalplate looking like an restrictor inside. I can see that the old ones has had these plates, but previous owner has removed them. My question is whether this plate should remain there, or should I remove it leaving a full hole?
As I understand restrictors are retrofitted to reduce output, but did those bikes come restricted from the factory?
Hope you can give me a hint...
Thanks
Anders Kristiansen

Re: NC29 intake rubbers
I think from 1995 it was restricted this way. Maybe you bought rubbers for 1995 model.
Photo will help.

Re: NC29 intake rubbers
The 94 onwards NC29 came with alloy restrictors i the carb rubbers as standard. People just pull them out to remove the restriction

Re: NC29 intake rubbers
Thanks for the quick replies. I will pull those restrictors out just like the old intake rubbers.
Thanks a lot!

Re: NC29 intake rubbers
Hi Anders, Just to add to the answers given for your information.. Yes they were restricted electronically to approximatly 112mph/180kph in Jap spec, info on this is in the forum somewhere but is an easy fix if not done on your bike. The carb restrictors were also added to the later R model as laws in Japan changed at that time limiting 400cc to 53bhp and as you know the alloy parts just pull out to give you full power.zulphur wrote:but did those bikes come restricted from the factory?
