Ignitech Help.

Post by ChowderV4 » Tue May 24, 2011 4:16 pm

I've just recieved my ignitech cdi from rick this morning and have plugged it into the bike.
The issue im having is the 9pin programming lead supplied with the cdi wont connect to sany of my computers at home, and by not connect i mean none of my computers have a port for it?

I've bought a 9pin to usb lead but it wont find the software, which was said might happen in the user guide.
I've emailed rick about the problem but just wondered if anyone else had a quick solution on here.

Im assuming its safe to use it as it is without plugging it in to the computer, its loaded with the +2degrees map at the moment.

You need the driver off the ignitech website.

Your be fine using it with that +2 map, theres no need to change it really.

I am afraid if its serial connection a lot of newer computers do not have them. I have tried some usb to serial and they do not seem to work.

i had the same problem, and mark (CMSMJ1) & Tony (Drunkn Munky) came to my rescues!

mark for the driver, tony for the software.

i borrowed a lead from work to try it out before i bought one from rick oliver, and it seems theyve forgotten about it, so its now on long term loan ;P
