best engine & frame degraser cleaner.

Post by jacknell » Tue May 10, 2011 7:42 pm

Just bought a bog standard Nc30 for a winter restoration project. But first id like to have sum fun on her showing up some of those new R1 etc.

Back to the thread after stripping her down i need to clean up the farme, swinging arm and all the genral components that have gathered 20 years of oil, road filth and corrosion. Looking for a degreaser that works well and wont effect the original coating on the frame and swinging arm.

cheers guys

Depends how bad, if it's quite bad I'd use Gunk or a similar de-greaser (not spray, out of a tin and brushed on using a piant brush to work inito the grease) to get the worst of the crap off then buff up with WD-40.
Parrafin brushed on and rinsed off is another option.
Get plenty of rag ready (old t-shirts etc) + Autosol for the ally bits 8-)
