Ok I compared my forks to the CBR900 and they are about cm longer. Minimal difference.

The SF cables:

However it was a bit difficult to take accurate measurement and make a photo of it. I measured them at around 70cm. The tape can't follow the curves they make.
The Braided steel ones are quite shorter:

Around 62cm. So I don't think they re any good to either of us. I hope though the SF cables will do the job for me since the CBR forks are 4 cm shorter.
A pleasant surprise was that the fender is identical in size to mine

Which means that I ll give it a nice clean and polish and get rid of it on ebay. Its all plastic and very light though..
here you can see all the relevant pictures

you think I can refurbish the forks my self? Get some seal and oil and just do it? How much will it cost me to have them professionally done? How do I see if I can adjust compression, rebound and preload? they only have one adjusting screw at the top. Does this do it all?
They are straight but they look messy. The white mark that you can see here

that looks like a stain is actually a chip.
At least all the other ones that I see on ebay are at least 170 for the forks only.

Re: CB400SF brakes upgrade
The second adjuster came in on later forks and is at the bottom of the leg. I wouldn't worry about it tbh.
I also couldn't believe my luck on the mudguards!
You can easily do the forks yourself if mechanically confident. Get a copy of the relevant Haynes page or watch a YouTube video to understand about fitting the adjuster back on correctly.
You're all good to go!

True! I had totally forgoten about the state of your fender.. Cool!amorti wrote: I also couldn't believe my luck on the mudguards!
I ll start polishing and cleaning in the weekend. And maybe by then I ll have decided whether to go solo or pro with the forks.
Now on the main issue the brackets. can you take measurements of the yokes so that we ll proceed to the final stage of their design? And then we ll have to see how we ll make the drawing reality too..

To be honest mate, it's going to be difficult for me to take meaningful measurements of the yoke with a ruler and/or vernier gauge but no calipers or protractor. How about you paypal me over some funds, I send the yokes to you and you take proper measurements?
