Post by nicolostomy » Mon May 02, 2011 8:55 pm

hi all need some help with my 21 had it running last year and havent used it for a while but ran it dry and drained the carbs and kept the battery on trickle charge, also had a new solenoid last august with the battery and new plugs, now it doesnt even click, turn or make a sound but the engine does turn freely, and ive done the fuel tap mod as well.

any ideas what it could be at all? checked all the fuses and for any loose connections seems fine, could an earth be the problem or mabye duff cdi havent got a clue really myself so any help would be good thanks??

Fuel tap mod isn't the best thing to do but ignore that for now.

Could be the battery is dead.

When you turn the key on do you have lights on the control panel?

Even with a dead cdi it should still crank some.

Theres a 30Amp fuse in the starter solenoid (a green one) if this is dead you'll have nothing.

If its ok id try a new battery first, do you have some jump leads?

no clocks?

Did it run before they were removed? I don't think removing the clocks should stop it running but do you have them to see what lights you get on when you turn the bike on?

It could be something daft like the bike not being in neutral and the switch failing or a bad connection somewhere..
