Did you close the bleed nipple before you let go of the lever?

Are you using a peice of tubing attached to the bleed nipple?

Is the lever firm when both nipples are shut off.

Did you turn them enough.

This is how I do mine

pulled the lever till it was really stiff
kept tension on lever
opened nipple
fluid flows as lever comes back
close nipple before the lever stops
repeat a few times

I had problems with bleeding these brakes from a dry state (no fluid)

I ended up using a vacuum bleeder, I highly recommend these. Makes life a lot easier.

Older brake systems and old lines are fairly succeptable to air in them and as a result a loss of braking/weak braking at times. If youre really struggling , get someone with some bleeding tools to make sure its done safely and correctly.

Good luck!

i did my nc23 front brakes last week it was a pain in the a**e
in the end i used this method and they bled within 5 mins.

Get a lid off a spray can pop a hold in bottom enough to squeeze a pipe into ( so you have like a resivour )
Attach pipe to bleed nipple and fill cap half full with brake fluid.
Now this is the part that will get you out of breath lol

Make an air tight seal around the cap with your mouth and blow as hard as you can (obviously with bleed nipple open) before you stop blowing close the bleed nipple, repeat this on both calipers a few times.
This helps all the air in the system to rise up (as we all know its easier to get bubble to go up rather than down)
You will start to feel the lever get a bit harder and see loads of bubbles come out the resivour, after doing this afew times bleed the brake with the pipe and cap still attached.

Pull lever, open nipple, close nipple, release brake and pump around 10 times to build pressure, repeat this one both calipers a few times and that should be it :D.

I have kept the cap and pipe in a draw for next time i want to bleed brakes as its the quickest cheapest ans easiest way to do them.

Hope this helps
