Well i can confirm that the chain run is visually out so yes we do need a spacer, now we just need to find out the exact measurement. surely someones done this before?????

Forgot to update this, i ended up with the RO chain spacer kit (only the front sprocket part) which spaces the front sprocket out 5mm. Visually it looks spot on and so far ive done atleast 100 miles on it with no problems.
