carb trouble!

Post by stevie » Tue Mar 29, 2011 7:33 pm

Hi all, its been a while since iv been on here, the site has changed a lot & looks great, glad to see good advice is still being given as im in need of some. just over a year ago i had a bad accident on my winter bike so the nc30 has been sat idle for all this time, when i tucked her up she was runing perfect but on trying to start her at the weekend she dident want to go, i managed to get her started but she was backfireing and when i cracked the throttle open fast she would die, iv discovered that the front two cylinders had filled up with petrol so i took the carbs off cleaned them out checked the float heights and the float switches which all seem to be working as hey should, but when i re fited the carbs it done it again, has anyone got any ideas what if not the floats can cause this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. my bike is a 92 uk mdel nc30 with nc35 carbs running the full hrc carb kit and airbox set up with a modifyed filter, im running 142/145 mj, hrc emulsion tubes, vell stacks, & slide springs, using the B needles on the longest setting, i allso use a small k&n crank case filter, nc35 cams, and a load of other mods but the above is all that would effect fueling. Thanks.

Ha, no sorry mate not me, im in Aylebury, iv put new plugs in but that wouldent cause petrol to leak into the front two cylinders, as far as i can see the only thing that would cause it would be the float switches but as i said they are all in good order and working as they should, float heights are spot on so im prety much out of ideas, and i dont fancey having to buy another set of carbs. any ideas? if iv done it rite there should be links to a couple of pictures of my bike below?
