NC30 HRC oil cooler torque setting?

Post by jb1000rr » Wed Jan 26, 2011 8:56 pm

Hi,

Does anyone know what Torque setting is required to tighten an HRC Oil Cooler onto the engine block on a NC30?

I can't find it listed or mentioned in any NC30 or HRC manuals anywhere!

The oil cooler has to be tightened onto the engine block by a long Oil Filter Boss and then an oil filter goes onto the end of the boss, but I can't find what torque setting is needed,

thanks jb1000rr.

I'd say the same as the oil filter...you don't want to be stripping any of them bolts!

It has to be more than oil filter. The original oil filter boss is only held in place by the number of threads that are left showing as it only needs to hold the filter in place with about 10NM. The oil cooler bolt has a 30mm bolt head built into it and has to hold the oil cooler firmly in place. It must have a torque setting higher than the oil filter?
