Wemoto Swingarm Bearing Set?

Post by tanto » Fri Jan 07, 2011 2:21 pm

Does anyone have experience of the Wemoto Swingarm Bearing Set? What is the quality like? Are the bearings stamped with the manufacturer's code? Are the seals OEM equiv.? If the set is no good, what do you use and recommend? Thanks!

Good find! Thanks!

Following the bearing spec. above, I notice BearingBoys.co.uk sell a 61904-2RS Sealed Ball Bearing (6904-2RS) which includes a double seal. Would it be worth using that bearing for extra durability? I may have to re-use the original right dust seal.

Would you happen to have a size/specification for this needle roller bearing? I want to see if SKF in Bangkok sell it.

Isn't this the Honda code for the bearing holder, right needle bearing?

The needle bearing I'm trying to find is the one on the swingarm pivot bolt, aka "left pivot needle bearing". Or is it that both bearings are the same (each used at each end of the swingarm, one in the bearing holder (chain adjuster), one on the pivot (pages 13-6 & 13-9 in the Service Manual)?

Just to confuse matters, my notes say the bearing holder's right needle bearing is 28x37x30 (SKF NK28/30TN), while the swingarm pivot's left pivot needle bearing is 28x36x30.

Head-failure!

on the swingarm there are 2 BALL BEARING TYPE as listed above for £2.25 each

and the other side of the swing arm is the NEEDLE TYPE that dss and rick oliver stock.

so in total the swingarm has 3 bearings in total. with the needle roller being the hard to get and expensive one.

I got that, the bit that's confusing me is whether there are two needle bearings used "in conjunction" with the swingarm. One needle bearing is used as you describe above, and there's another needle bearing used at the other end of the swingarm. The question is, are they the same?

The specs I've come across say that the bearing holder's right needle bearing is 28x37x30, while the swingarm pivot's left pivot needle bearing is 28x36x30. I'm double-checking as it wouldn't be unusual to find that both bearings are, in fact, identical (and that I've picked up a wrong dimension from somewhere). :?:

Okay, I'm an idiot! Thanks to http://www.akhara.com/nc30/nc30parts/ the fog of ignorance has lifted. The needle bearings I have been struggling to identify are:

Part No. 29, Honda part code: 91062-MR7-003 "Rear axle needle bearing" from http://www.akhara.com/nc30/nc30parts/files/32.htm

The other needle bearing, the one accurately described by porndoguk, is:

Part No. 19, Honda code: 91071-MR7-003 Needle bearing - from http://www.akhara.com/nc30/nc30parts/files/40.htm

To make amends for my sins, here's the least expensive source I could find for 91062-MR7-003, BRG,NDL.50X62X25,

http://www.bearingboys.co.uk/NK50_25_Ne ... ngs-5941-p

£29.00 at David Silver's, £13.39 at Bearing Boys.

FYI, BearingBoys 91071-MR7-003 (BRG,NDL.28X37X30) is £9.50 at David Silver's, £9.22 at Bearing Boys. (http://www.bearingboys.co.uk/NK28_30_Ne ... ngs-5919-p)
