Re: nc30 engine in rvf frame
This is backward from what most people want to do. 35 motor in 30 frame.
But to answer your question... the motor will bolt right in, but you would have to swap the wiring and ECU to get it to run right. G-Force tried to get this to work and they couldn't IIRC. Besides, the 35 has a better gearbox setup.

Re: nc30 engine in rvf frame
thanks vfrman its not something i intended doing myself but have a friend who runs a dyno/workshop and one of his customers has an rvf he brought in for him to repair after the chain snapped damaging the casings around the output shaft area . after initial inspection he noticed the output shaft was feked as well the lad who owns the bike bought it recently for about 2.5k and cannot afford the £300+ for a s/h motor and labour at moment and as i have a spare nc motor was going to give him that to keep cost down.

I'm almost sure you can use the 35 loom and cdi,
but you will have to chaing the picups and poss the rotor.

Yes i run a 30 motor in my 35, and hunter is right, hunter wrote:I'm almost sure you can use the 35 loom and cdi,

You need to change the pickups if you want to use the 35 loom and cdi.
Also if you intend to use the lower engine mounts it will be worth giving them a really good clean or you will strip the threads of any mounting bolts, as i found out to my cost

I changed for motor due to blowing the original, I now run a UK spec 30 engine because of the oil cooler

Will you have to swap the tacho too? I tried an NC30 one on the NC35 and it didn't work

Yes, you need to use the tacho that the loom came from, '30 and '35 tachos aren't interchangeable on their own.

Sorry forgot to mention, you also have to swap the pulse generator along with the pick up coil for the 35 one if you use the 35 cdi. and clocks.
